''Bursting Purity - Shurimon''

I honestly don't know what my favorite aspect is: The shuriken hands and feet, the stretchy arms and legs or the GIANT shuriken on his back that, in addition to being thrown for an attack, can whirl like a helicopter propeller and allow him to hover a little or just his awesome voice in the dub. (certainly what I remember best )

I nearly called this "Shurimon - The Samurai of Sincerity", a la the dub, but there are two problems with this: 1.) it only recently dawned on me that the name is derived from "shuriken" and so he isn't a samurai at all, he's a ninja! 2.) "Sincerity" isn't the correct name for Mimi's trait, it's Purity whereas Joe's actually was translated as Sincerity by whoever did the the first season subs I watched (however, in Zero-Two the subbers called his "Faithfulness". Apparently his trait in particular doesn't translate well and so it has a different name in virtually every dub)

One other thing: I actually would like to know exactly what he says in Japnese.... the subbers have it as "Bursting Purity"and that works from the "action" standpoint, but if you consider the theme of Palmon/plants I'm wonder if maybe "Blooming" might not be more accurate... I only say this because they translate Nefertimon's cry, hohoemi no hikari, as "Light of Smiles" whereas I would have translated it as "Smiling Light" based on what I know from the name of the theme song from YuYu Hakuso, "Hohoemi no Bokudan" ("Smiling Bomb" or "A Smile like a Bomb") and it would have fit with the others' cries a bit better as actions.
