Melfina of the Outlaw Star

The FUNimation re-release of Outlaw Star went up for pre-order a while ago, so I had the urge to do a little something to commemorate it. I had actually intended on doing something back in March to commemorate a personal favorite episode, but I felt the character I had chosen might be a little obscure, so I ended up taking another crack at drawing my favorite of the main characters, Melfina.


I also could help by play "Through the Night" in iTunes  a few times while I was cleaning this up in Photoshop.

Again, help with anatomy and placement, but I am MUCH happier with the outcome, even if there was simply no WAY I could draw in ALL of the folds/wrinkles the image I was drawing from had. The hands and lines on the face were traced in (I was actually going to omit those lines initially, but she just didn't look right without them. I guess 90's anime characters had 'em for a reason.) but that's really all that had to be hard traced.

Outlaw Star and all of its character, including Melfina, are (c) Takehiko Ito, Bandai Entertainment and any other respective owners I may not know/have listed or be aware of (There is/was a manga out there, apparently, but I don't think it ever got a US release). I do not own the character in any way, shape or form, I am just a fan!
